Last summer, I went on the dreamiest roadtrip with one of my most lovable friends Christina. I met & got to know her over the course of our 11 month long missions trip we took in 2013 around the world. After having had travelled so much with her, I knew we were in for an amazing time on our trip as we set out from Southern California heading east. Our first major stop was Joshua Tree, where we spent a night under the most incredible blanket of stars I’ve ever seen. Before the sun set though, we had a mini photoshoot in the Cactus Garden, photographing each other & the incredible scenery. Fun fact: I ended up accidentally half-stepping on a baby cactus, and we spent a good chunk of the night getting all of it’s needles out of my foot. Yay roadtrip stories!

This couple. This location. This session! Kelly & RJ were high school sweethearts, and are so undeniably smitten with one another. They have the kind of love that makes my job easy–simply documenting the beauty in their relationship that’s already so evident. When we started shooting, Kelly said something along the lines of how they’ll need a lot of help being told how to pose and what to do. Psh! They were both naturals! With a little guidance, these two totally rocked their session making it easily one of my favorite engagement shoots to date! I cannot WAIT to photograph them again on their wedding day next year.

This couple, without a doubt, has one of the coolest senses of style I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing! I was obsessed with every detail of their unique wedding, which had a definite rock n’ roll vibe mixed with delicate sweet touches. I met the bride Alena through her family, whom I’ve had the pleasure of photographing before. I was ecstatic to hear from her, and felt even more excited once I got to their wedding & saw what an amazing day it would be! Here are some of my favorites from their wedding day:)

I’ve known Laura since she was in kindergarten. As my best friend’s little sister, she’s been the closest thing I’ve had to having a little sis of my own! Now she’s all grown up and engaged (which I literally can’t get over!). I was so honored when she asked me to photograph her and her fiancé before he set off to boot camp for the US Army. Side note: I’m a little in love with this hidden gem of a location I found (thanks yelp!). It made the perfect backdrop for these two and the western vibes they were rocking. Here are some of my favorites from their session, congratulations Laura & Justin!

I first asked Madeline to model for when I was in college for school projects–about five years ago! Though we’ve both lived in an out of the country since then, we always try and shoot together when we’re both in town. She was just here for a short while before heading back to Milan where she studies fashion so we had to sneak in a shoot quickly! Luckily I already had some gorgeous rings and bracelets on hand from an amazingly talented jeweler, The Fox and Stone so I incorporated those into the shoot which really brought the look together. As is typical of me, I thrifted the dress (what a steal!) and tried my own hand at styling the florals. The result is this dreamy gypsy-esque vibe with a touch of fairytale! Enjoy my favorites below & be sure to check out The Fox and Stone for custom jewelry pieces:)

Model: Madeline | Rings & Bracelets: The Fox and Stone | Headpiece: Icing | Styling & Florals: Me!
